U.S. Citizenship Numbers Dip

After steady years of growth, the number of Indians adopting US citizenship has declined. 46,871 Indians took out U.S. citizenship in 2007, down from 47,542 in 2006.
 
Mexico had the largest number of new U.S. citizens with 122,258. Philippines, China and Vietnam took the third, fourth and fifth places respectively. California had the most new citizens, followed by New York and Florida.
