| Indian drug manufacturer Ranbaxy has turned to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (who Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani mocked for constructing all sentences with a noun, a verb and 9/11) to help resolve a FDA ban on imports of its drugs. Citing poor conditions at its plants, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned the imports of 30 generic drugs, including popular cholesterol and antibiotic medicines, manufactured by Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd.
Ranbaxy is one of the world's largest manufacturer of generic drugs and has been in the FDA's crosshairs since 2006 when it was first cited for quality violations. |
