Pakistan Taps Expats To Avoid Bankruptcy

Pakistan, seeking to stave off bankruptcy, is pleading for help from its expatriate community. The government, which has also turned to the International Monetary Fund, is urgently seeking $10 billion from its diaspora to avoid defaulting on its debts.

 
The estimated 3 million Pakistanis working abroad remitted a record $6.45 billion to Pakistan last year.
