| A San Diego couple has been charged with defrauding $1.34 million from Medicare by stealing the identities of seniors and submitting fraudulent claims for treatment at their physical therapy center.
Authorities claim that Sanjay Patel and his wife Leena paid unsuspecting seniors $100 to obtain their health insurance information and signatures on blank medical forms. They allegedly used the forms to submit false Medicare claims in 2005 and 2006 for treatment at the Balboa Therapy Center in Hillcrest, between July 2005 and June 2006. |
