H-1B Visa, Anyone?

11,000 H-1B visas still remain available this year, according to the figures released by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

The annual cap of 65,000 visas was reached on Dec 21 in 2009 and on April 8 in 2008. Until the current economic crisis, the H-1B visa cap was reached in just a few days and there was industry pressure to increase the cap.

A steep hike in visa fees from $320 to $2,320 to pay for a $650 million security fence along the US-Mexican border is partly blamed for the softening in H-1B visa demand.

I have never heard about visa money being used to pay for the boarder fence Obama refuses to build. Where did you hear this?
I think 99% of the decline has to do with the economy.
