Sorry folks, we don't know how quite to tell you this, but a two-year study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has conclusively established that the penises of Indian men are smaller - one to two inches smaller, in point of fact.
The study, which caliberated penis sizes of 1,200 volunteers across the country, down to the last millimeter, concluded that Indian men came up inches short of the international standards.
So why is the council peeking into your pants, you ask. Well their concern is with condoms, a fifth of which fall off or tear during use by Indian men, because they are too large - the condoms that is. The international condom standards are not appropriate for Indians, so the ICMR is calling for mixed size condoms, euphemism for smaller, presumably. The council fears that people would be too embarrassed to ask a pharmacist for smaller sizes.
Sunil Mehra, former editor of Maxim India, is unfazed by Indians failing the international yardstick, telling the BBC: "It's not size, it's what you do with it that matters. From our population, the evidence is Indians are doing pretty well. With apologies to the poet Alexander Pope, you could say, for inches and centimetres, let fools contend." |
