Anandita Dutta Tamuly, 26, of Jorhat, Assam, gobbled up 51 Naga Jolokias (ghost chilis), the world’s hottest chili, in an attempt to establish a Guinness World Record.
Tamuly told the media that she “felt terrible” at missing her earlier record in which she consumed 60 chilis.
Naga Jolokia is considered the world’s spiciest chili with a hotness measure of one million Scoville units, twice that of the next hottest chili, or 700-times that of a standard green chili, which tips in at 1,500 units.
