Police in Fairfax, Va., investigating a string of 16 burglaries, suspect the robbers targeted Hindu homes.
The common pattern in the robberies, which are spread over six months starting in January in the western section of the county, is that the homes had religious ornaments, most commonly images of Ganesha, “displayed outside or around their homes,” police said, which “may be a contributing factor” in determining the home to target.
