Indians in New Zealand are proposing to create a $20 million replica of the Taj Mahal, including a marble mausoleum, a pool and gold-plated ornaments, at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Auckland.
“What we want is a building that will reflect the grandeur and the rich Indian culture and history, and be the pride of the community here,” according to the center’s chairman Kanu Patel.
