An undocumented Indian living in Queens, N.Y., who was hailed as a hero two years ago for rescuing a woman in a conflict with an irate cab driver, has been indicted for trafficking arms to Lebanese terrorists.
Patrick Nayyar, 46, is charged with selling guns, ammunition, vehicles, bulletproof vests and night vision goggles to a FBI undercover agent posing as a member of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, which the U.S. labels a terrorist organization.
In 2007, Nayyar shot to public fame after chasing down and blocking a cab driver who fled with a woman in his taxi after a fare dispute. |
