The US Citizenship and Immigration Services will accept new petitions for the H-1B work visas from April 1 to April 7.
This agency says it will extend the date if the number of applications do not exceed the annual quota of 65,000.
Last year the quota was exhausted in a day, but a slow down in the economy coupled with new legislation imposing restrictions on businesses received federal bailout money from hiring foreign workers is expected to ease the demand considerably this year.
