The December Go Figure stumped our readers. Your guesses ranged from human skull, bone limb or joint, bat, baked yam, teeth, mushroom, snake's snout, and boot's heel, to beehive, volcanic rock, and turtle's foot.
Only two readers, Kriti Osan of Levittown, N.Y., and Shyamala Ram of Berkeley, Calif., correctly identified the image as the tongue or clapper of a temple bell.
