The phut puts, buses, lorries, cycles and scooters, not to mention camels and cows, better make room on the highways for the future flood of automobiles. According to the research group Keystone, China and India are poised to become the fastest growing markets, with a combined share of motor vehicle registration rising sevenfold from 5.3 percent to 37 percent by 2030. The survey projects that in 2017, China will be the world's largest market for auto sales, surpassing even the US and that sales could reach 62 million, three times the projected sales in the US. India is projected to surpass Japan within the decade, almost matching the US market by 2030. This in the land of the one car wonder, the good ol' Ambassador!
