Called Foul For Yoga

One of the National Football League's premier running back Ricky Williams may be trading himself -to yoga. Williams announced recently that he is heading to India for advanced study to become a yoga instructor.

Earlier, he had studied holistic medicine at the College of Ayurveda in Grass Valley, Northern California.

"I'm always looking for some type of stimulation. In the old days, it would be about going out and looking for something, but I've really turned my thoughts and focus inward toward improving myself as much as possible."

William retired from the sport one year ago (although he returned this season), saying at the time: "So when is it OK for me to stop playing football? When my knees went out? When my shoulders went out? When I had too many concussions?"

During that sabbatical he told the San Fransisco Chronicle: "I've realized, both on a psychological and physical level, that the things we do in football don't bring more harmony to your life. They just bring more disharmony."
