Tata Consultancy Services has established call centers in Reno, Ohio, and Milton, Fla., part of a trend of insourcing among Indian outsourcing companies to move part of their operations to the U.S.

 
Several other Indian outsourcing companies, including Infosys and Wipro, are setting up U.S. operations, in part because some U.S. companies are willing to pay a premium for their outsourced services and also because some services may be more efficiently managed from the U.S.

TCS's Reno operation, for example, handles calls for the online travel agency Expedia, which requires workers with a deeper understanding of U.S. geography. U.S. workers typically cost 40 to 50 percent more than similar workers in India.
