Brown Clouds Melting Himalayan Glaciers

University of California, San Diego, researchers say pollution-filled "brown" clouds over South Asia are responsible for global heating that is responsible for the retreat of Himalayan glaciers during the past half century.

 
These glaciers feed India's major rivers, including the Ganges, Indus and Yangtze and major melting can contribute to flooding and weather changes.
