Prince Charles is toasting the induction of "chuddies," the Punjabi word for underwear, in the British lexicon.

In a speech paying tribute to South Asians on India's 60th Independence celeberations recently, Charles took note of the line "kiss my chuddies" made famous in the BBC comedy series Goodness Gracious Me. The word subsequently was entered in the 2005 Collins English Dictionary.

At this year's Diwali celebrations in the House of Commons, British Hindus anointed Prime Minister Gordon Brown as Govardhan Brown.
