Indian Aviation Industry Set For Take Off

Indian air carriers expect to increase their fleet of aircraft from the current 400 to about 2,500 by 2020, and during that time the number of airports would increase from today's 80 to about 500.

 
Praful Patel, minister of state for civil aviation, said annual growth in numbers of domestic passengers, currently at 40 percent, will average 25 percent per year over the next five years.
