Indian multinationals in the United States have generated 65,000 jobs, according to the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

An Ernst & Young study titled Report on Direct Investments in USA by Indian Enterprises says that Indian companies acquired 86 U.S. companies in 2007 for $35 billion.

Indian companies also add jobs by setting up facilities in the country. An Indian pipe manufacturer, Man Industries Ltd., is setting up a $100 million plant along the Arkansas River in Little Rock that will bring 250 jobs to the region. The plant will produce 300,000 tons of pipes for the petroleum industry. Another Indian pipe manufacturer, Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd., is building a $100 million plant at the port that is expected to employ 300 workers.
