Hanuman For Obama

Barack Obama, who reportedly keeps a monkey king good luck charm he picked up in Indonesia in his pocket has to make way for a weightier idol.

His ardent supporters in India held prayers and are preparing to present him with a two foot tall, 30 lb gold-polished brass Hanuman statue with help from Democrats Abroad-India. There is just one hitch: federal law prohibits senators from accepting gifts over $10 in value.

"We have heard that he carries a small monkey charm in his pocket. So he is a devotee of Hanuman. That's why we want to present him with this idol," according to Brij Mohan Bhama, a Mumbai businessman and Congress politician, who organized the group. "He will be good for India if he becomes the next president."

Bhama is certainly passionate: his email id is bhamaforobama.
