| In a bid to shame the Gods into delivering rain, frustrated farmers near Banke Bazaar, in Bihar, asked their unmarried daughters to strip naked to plow their fields. The naked girls chanted hymns as they plowed the parched fields after sunset. Upendra Kumar, a village council official, told the media: “They believe their acts would get the weather gods badly embarrassed, who in turn would ensure bumper crops by sending rains.” |
