Reena’s Lowest Point

The first Indian woman to reach the South Pole.

Reena Kaushal Dharmshaktu became the first Indian woman to reach the South Pole with a 7 woman Commonwealth team on New Year’s eve.

 
Her mountaineer husband, Love Raj Singh Dharmshaktu, scaled Mt Everest in May 2009 at which time Reena commented: “That is the highest point on Earth and I will be skiing to South Pole, the lowest point on Earth.”
