Reena Kaushal Dharmshaktu became the first
Indian woman to reach the South Pole with a 7 woman Commonwealth team on New
Year’s eve.
Her mountaineer husband, Love Raj Singh
Dharmshaktu, scaled Mt Everest in May 2009 at which time Reena commented: “That
is the highest point on Earth and I will be skiing to South Pole, the lowest
point on Earth.”
