Young Hindu girls tied rakhis on the wrists of police officers in London, near Ontario, Canada on Raksha Bandhan.

Since “Raksha” stands for “protection” and “Bandhan” for “bond,” community organizers said it was logical to extend the symbolism to police officers who protected the community.
