An Indian family will only cook curry when their Chinese neighbor who was annoyed by its smell isn’t home under a mediation settlement in Singapore.

The settlement has incensed Singaporeans. Commented one, “If the family can’t stand the smell of curry cooking by the neighbour, they have only to consider moving away.”  Noted another sarcastically, “Can we tell the (Chinese) politely to stop eating and roasting live dogs?”

I believe it would have been very different if we were to made such remark in their country. You don't go to other people's country an made such remark, they can consider themself lucky that they are in Singapore or could have been beaten up or even kill if they said such thing in some other country. This kind of ill manner people just needed to be taught a lesson, as a Singaporean we have the right to eat what we have been eating or cooking and since when is a law stating that we must not eat or cook if the foreigner complaint. I think this ill manner, unreasonable, selfish arrogant people must only stay in a bungalow house or go back to where they came from. Singapore is a multicultural society, even I myself a Singapore Chinese do cook or eat curry at home. There are many stall or hawker center where curry are cook and sold, do all the vendor need to close the stall if the Chinese is there? or does the government need to impose a ban on cook or eating curry ?

this incident happened 6-7 years ago. The agreement was reached between 2 families, it was not decided by the mediation centre. Somehow this was published in the recent local newspapers right before the presidential election without stating the fact that this took place years ago. it is very obvious that this was done on purpose.
